Welcome to Hylton Castle Primary School

Tolerance of Those With Different Faiths or Beliefs

This is achieved through enhancing pupils understanding of their place in a culturally diverse society and by giving them opportunities to experience such diversity. Assemblies and discussions involving prejudices and prejudice-based bullying have been followed and supported by learning in RE and SMSC. Our involvement with six other European countries in an Erasmus+ Partnership celebrates differences and allows children to become immersed in other cultures. Members of different faiths or religions, wherever possible, are encouraged to share their knowledge to enhance learning within classes and the school.

We enjoy learning about different faiths and cultures from around the world.

We promote diversity of through celebrations of different faiths and cultures.

We know that we are part of a diverse society and have the opportunity to experience different cultures.

We understand how prejudice can lead to hate and how important it is to overcome prejudice.

Members of different Faiths are welcome in our school and are encouraged to share their knowledge with us.

We enjoy visiting and learning about places of worship from different faiths.

We use opportunities such as The world Cup and the Olympics to learn about different cultures.
