Digital School Meals Pre-order System

From Monday 3rd October we will be introducing a digital pre-order system for school meals. The “My Evolve” system will allow parents / carers to order their child’s meals from the comfort of their own home using a Laptop, PC, Smartphone or Tablet and will bring the following benefits:

  • It ensures every child gets their meal of choice
  • It allows parents / carers to discuss menus choices with their child
  • It provides additional measures to safeguard children with allergies, intolerances or medical conditions
  • It will speed up the lunchtime service, reducing queues and giving children more time to enjoy lunchtime activities with their friends
  • It will reduce food waste, which is good for the environment, and also helps to manage the cost of schools
  • It will encourage more children to take school meals, which again helps with the management of school meal cost
  • It provides an additional opportunity for children to engage with digital technology

The ordering should be done in the week before service. So, orders for the following week’s meals must be in the system by 12 noon on the Tuesday before service on the following Monday.  We encourage you to order your child’s meals as far in advance as you wish.

If you forget to pre-order your child’s meal, then your child will receive a default option, which is currently a packed lunch with a cheese sandwich. There will never be an occasion when your child is not fed.

The system is really easy to set up and use. To help parents we have supplied a user guide that provides all necessary steps required.  Please see link below for instructions.

School Dinners

Children are encouraged to stay for a healthy cooked meal at school.

We do have some children on packed lunches, but since 2011 children from Reception have all stayed for school meals and this has continued with those children and all new children coming into school since 2011.  We would like to encourage the remainder of our children to stay for a school meal.

School dinners have changed considerably over the last few years and now incorporate a school packed lunch option with healthy options as well as a salad bar, pasta option.  We often promote school meals and have theme days throughout the year to encourage children who bring a home packed lunch to school to try these great menus.

Children with dietary requirements – parents should make an appointment with Mrs Wood or Miss Clark to discuss the child’s diet.  A hospital letter from the dietician or consultant will be required and we will work closely with the School Cook to devise a suitable dietary menu for your child.

School meals are priced at £2.40 per day, £12.00 per week to be paid on a Monday morning either weekly, monthly or termly.  Payment method preferred is on-line by using the e-payment system (link below) on the Sunderland City Council website (if you require any information on this please contact the school office).  Please note, you may also use this payment method for school trips, breakfast club, uniforms and music lessons by using the drop down codes:-

School meals – for school dinners

Music Lessons – music lessons during school and after school
