Den Building Workshops – 24th and 25th May 2017
Parent and children workshops were well attended from all year groups. The structure was made from Cherrywood, Hazel twigs and used willow to weave, children were taught how to make wattle and daub to add to the weaved willow to construct the walls of the den to create cob walls. Everyone joined in and got their hands dirty, from making the mix using soil, sand, straw, clay and water. Then applying the cob to the walls of the structure to make it solid. Other groups learnt to weave the willow around the structure and create the walls. The project has been half constructed and the remainder will be for the school to complete.
