PE Lessons
Year 1 pupils have their P.E. lessons on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Please send your child to school in their P.E Kit – House colour t-shirt, plain black or navy shorts / plain black or navy jogging bottoms, plain black or navy hoodie (or they can wear their school jumper/cardigan)
In Summer term the children will be attending swimming lessons at Castleview Academy. Girls will need a black or navy swimsuit and a swimming cap (which can be purchased at Castleview). Boys will need black or navy swimming trunks (no shorts).
Reading
Your child will bring home 2 books each week. One will have the sounds in that your child has been practising in their daily phonics lesson and the other will be a shared reading book for you to read to you child. These shared readers can be changed whenever you are finished with the book. Phonics reading books need to be brought into school every Thursday and will be changed every Friday. Please hear your child read every day and sign your child’s reading diary each time. We will also hear your child read at school throughout the week.

Names in clothes please – shoes also!
Please make sure your child has a pair of black plimsolls for indoor wear again with names in.
Arriving / Home time routines
Doors open at 8.30am. There will be a Teaching Assistant on duty at the door to take any messages you may need to pass to the teacher.
Children should be collected from the year 1 door at 3pm. Children will only be allowed to leave school if a parent or carer can be seen by the teacher – please wave! Please let the teaching assistant/office know in advance if another adult will be collecting your child.
